Can your pads be powered by a DC electric power supply like a battery?Does the controller transform the Ac to dc like the Biomat does?

All of our products use AC (alternating current) electricity from a standard power outlet rather than DC (direct current) electricity like that used in batteries.

Direct current does not generate the same type of electromagnetic fields as alternating current. However, DC power is generally not sufficient to heat the large amount of crystals contained in the mat to high temperatures (up to about 70°C inside the pad beneath the crushed stones), which is necessary for the crystals to emit strong infrared radiation.

Using an AC heating system is not a concern in our design. Ereada® mats incorporate multiple technologies to minimize electromagnetic emissions while maintaining a safe, durable, and reliable heating system.
