Do you need to drink water before or after the procedure?

Using a FIR mat at high heat for long periods may contribute to fluid and electrolyte loss, especially if you sweat heavily.

If you eat a balanced diet and stay properly hydrated, it is unlikely that normal use of the mat a few times per week will cause mineral or electrolyte deficiency.

However, good hydration is essential during higher-heat sessions:

  • Drink water before your session,
  • sip water as needed while using the mat, and
  • continue hydrating afterward.

Listening to your body and avoiding excessive heat or overly long sessions is always recommended.
