6. Mats with PEMF function may have a small 2-inch high clear plastic vial with a tiny little metal cylinder in the set. It is a device for testing PEMF (pulsating magnetic fields) function. The metal cylinder moves in the jar when PEMF is ON. This movement is the reaction to magnetic field pulsing. It is stronger closer to PEMF coils and will go down with distance.

The mat has seven levels of heat on the controller.  

Level 1 is 86°F or 30°C ( used for Negative Ions and Potential, all-night sleep low heat mode ) 

Level 2 is 98°F or 36°C ( Low mode ) 

Level 3 is 110°F or 43°C ( Low-medium mode ) 

Level 4 is 120F or 49C ( Medium mode ) 

Level 5 is 133°F or 56°C ( Medium-High mode ) 

Level 6 is 145°F or 63°C ( High mode ) 

Level 7 is 158°F or 70°C ( Highest mode )

• Red Light is activated by the Photon button for 1 hour every 4 hours, so for 8 hours, you have two cycles of 1 hour each. It is quite enough for stimulation. After one hour, the red light will switch itself off. In 4 hours, it will resume. In 1 more hour, it will switch off again.
• PEMF is activated by the PEMF button for 20 minutes each 2 hours, so for 8 hours, you have four cycles of 20 minutes each. 
• The mat may come with a single frequency 60Hz PEMF controller or an adjustable-rate nine levels of PEMF in the range between 8 and 64Hz controller. You can switch between 8Hz, 16Hz, 24Hz, 32 Hz, 40Hz, 48Hz, 56Hz, 64Hz (PEMF levels 1-8), and a random frequency program (level 9) using the PEMF button.
• If you would like to use PEMF continuously (30-60 minutes), you need to manually reactivate the PEMF function by pressing the appropriate button every 20 minutes when it stops. But it is not recommended to use PEMF continuously for more than 30 minutes during the use of heating function at higher than 2nd or 3rd level.
• You can also manually deactivate the Photon function any time, and in this case, cycling will be interrupted. Or you can re-activate it, and the lights will be ON.
• Static magnets in the leg zone are always on and work without electricity. They generate a powerful 300 gauss intensity permanent magnetic field.
• ION button activates the air ion function for one hour, and the related indicator goes ON when it is ON and OFF when 1 hour expires. Usually, this function is activated together with mat pre-heating so that the air is clean and refreshed with ions when you start your procedures.
