Can I use the mat if I have a pacemaker/defibrillator device?

FIR mats should not be used by the patients with pacemakers; however, they can use the mat for negative ions only (non-heating mode).

In general, infrared heating pads have not been shown to interfere or damage pacemakers/defibrillators but it is better to consult the physician or professional before the use of the amethyst mat in heating mode.

We recommend anyone who uses a pacemaker and/or defibrillator to use the amethyst mat on low heat only (levels 1-2 or 95F-113F) or for Negative Potential (Brown Ereada® mat) and not to use PEMF (pulsation magnetic fields function) if you have a Purple or Gemstone Ereada® mat.

If you are experiencing any discomfort, discontinue use immediately.

As well, if you have a defibrillator, it is recommended not to lay on the mat directly over your device.
