Are the amethyst stones sustainably and ethically sourced?

Most of the amethyst used in these mats traditionally comes from mines in South Korea. These stones are considered high quality and have been used in Korean wellness products for many years.

In recent years, due to increased global demand and the limited supply from Korean mines, some raw amethyst geodes are also imported from Brazil. These large crystals are then processed in Korea, where they are crushed, polished, and blended with other stones during manufacturing.

Brazil has a long history of gemstone mining, and the companies supplying these geodes are established mining operations.

Amethyst mining requires experience and geological knowledge. Professional geologists and trained workers identify amethyst geodes among other quartz formations and carefully extract them from the surrounding rock.

Some people who use crystal-based wellness products also like to “recharge” their stones. A common traditional practice is placing the crystals in sunlight so they warm up and absorb solar energy. This method is sometimes used for mats as well, especially if they have been stored for a long time or purchased second-hand.

Even when the mat is used regularly, some users occasionally place it in sunlight on warm days as part of their crystal-care routine. This practice comes from traditional crystal wellness traditions.
