How many PEMF coils are there in Ereada® mats? What is the intensity and frequency?

Ereada® PEMF systems are designed to be stronger and more adjustable than the PEMF found in many other gemstone mats.

Earlier models had only one PEMF frequency (around 50–60 Hz). Newer controllers allow users to choose from multiple settings in the ultra–low-frequency range from 8 to 64 Hz.

Since 2019, Purple and Gemstone Ereada® Amethyst mats have nine PEMF programs. Press the PEMF button repeatedly to select the desired level. The controller briefly displays the PEMF level (1–9), then switches back to the temperature level (1–7).

  • Level 1 — 8 Hz (first harmonic of the Schumann resonance)
  • Level 2 — 16 Hz
  • Level 3 — 24 Hz
  • Level 4 — 32 Hz
  • Level 5 — 40 Hz
  • Level 6 — 48 Hz
  • Level 7 — 56 Hz
  • Level 8 — 64 Hz
  • Level 9 — automatic program cycling between 8–64 Hz every 1–2 seconds

The PEMF program operates in cycles: 20 minutes ON and 100 minutes OFF, repeating up to four times when the timer is set for 8 hours or more.

PEMF intensity ranges from approximately 100 to 400 gauss depending on the selected level and frequency. Static permanent magnets measure about 300 gauss when checked directly at the magnet surface.

Earlier versions of Purple and mixed Gemstone mats (larger than Mini) included three PEMF coils in the upper body area. Newer production models feature:

  • Mini (20" × 32") — 2 coils
  • Midsize (24" × 59") — 3 coils
  • Professional (29" × 73") — 4 coils
  • Single (35" × 75") — 5 coils

Purple and Gemstone mats also include twelve permanent magnets in the lower body zone, while Mini models distribute the magnets throughout the mat.

Magnetic fields weaken with distance according to the inverse-square principle: intensity decreases rapidly the farther you move from the coil. More coils help create a broader, more uniform field across the mat surface.
