How deep is the impact of Infrared Rays?
All hot objects release infrared rays. Usually, the depth of their penetration in the tissues is not more than several inches.
However, warmed Amethyst crystals initiate two processes that help get a more profound impact up to 6-8 inches deep.
- First, the circulation system intensifies bloodstreams to cool heated tissues, and so it spreads the warm energy to surrounding areas.
- Second, there is a bio-resonance effect of Amethyst crystals rays making cells generate their heat.
Heated Amethyst emits warmth in a narrow range of MIR and FIR rays between 4 and 16 microns with two so-called "crystal peaks" at 7 and 12 microns.
Experiments showed the bio-resonance effect of Amethyst Radiant Heating (crystal peaks) when the body temperature kept elevated even 4-8 hours after the mat procedure.
It was explained by boosting mitochondria (cell power stations) to produce heat themselves.
I attach info in the PDF file "Body Temperature Raise." It refers to tests with Richway Biomat, which is a different company product but comparable to our mats.
Body Temperature Raise after Amethyst Mat Thermo Therapy
In Japan, they used Biomat for their studies. It is similar to our Classic Amethyst Mat without additional functions.
Also, researchers used a pair of mats for high intensive "sandwiched" between mats thermotherapy.
Remember, please, that drinking many water and minerals is essential for the successful use of any sauna or hot stone therapy, especially on high levels or for longer than half-hour periods.
We always recommend our customers consult doctors before starting to use the mat. It is a "must to" if any medical conditions exist. Also, please study the contraindications list on our website and in the user guide before use.
Many of our customers use their mats to awaken the internal healing powers, and so it is essential to listen to the body's response and adjust procedures accordingly.

If you are interested in getting more information about the studies and researching Far-Infrared heating benefits, please, find out more on the PUBMED website https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov searching for "Far-Infrared," or "FIR," or other related keywords.
PubMed is a free resource that is developed and maintained by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). PubMed comprises more than 27 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books.
