What are general contraindications?
Avoid using the Far Infrared mat in heating mode (unless approved by your doctor) if you have recently experienced any of the following conditions:
- Stroke
- Severe aortic stenosis
- Myocardial infarction (heart attack)
- Unstable angina pectoris
- Lupus erythematosus
- Brain tumors
- If you are currently taking corticosteroids
General contraindications include:
- Organ transplant recipients
- Users of pacemakers or defibrillators
- People with reduced sensitivity to heat
- Immobilized patients or children without supervision
- Newborns and infants
- Pregnant women
- Patients with fever, hyperthermia, or elevated body temperature
- Individuals with fresh joint injuries
- Patients undergoing radiation or chemotherapy without approval from their oncologist
- Individuals with fresh wounds or recent trauma
- People under the influence of medications, sleeping aids, drugs, alcohol, or intoxication
- Patients with severe mental disorders or dementia
- Individuals diagnosed with multiple sclerosis
Extra caution is necessary for people with diabetes. It is recommended to start with very short sessions at low temperatures and monitor blood sugar levels carefully. If you have diabetic neuropathy or reduced sensitivity, use the mat only according to a strict time, frequency, and temperature protocol recommended by your doctor, and preferably under supervision.
